There are many PC configurations on the market. It is possible that certain hardware configurations will prove incompatable with this custom software. Several important considerations are listed below to help insure you get the best results. 1. Make sure your screen is set to NO LESS THAN 800 x 600. This is the size of the display window for the scene. 2. Recommended hardware specifications: Graphics card with 64 MB RAM 1 GB system RAM Intel Pentium4 2.0 Ghz processor or better NOTE: Some older configurations that are less advanced may still play the scene fine. 3. Make sure all other programs are closed to avoid conflicts and ensure maximum system resources are available. 4. Make sure you have Microsoft Direct X installed along with the latest graphics drivers for your system. 5. Graphics performance can be evaluated during playback of the scene by pressing "T" on the keyboard. "Polygons Rendered" is merely viewport feedback and cannot be adjusted by the viewer "FPS" should read 16 or close to it. "Video RAM" information is critical. There should always be some "Available" RAM 6. If you experience poor performance, especially due to a lower end graphics card, you can greatly improve the playback by making sure the color depth of your display is set to "16 bit" (found in the "Settings" tab of your system's "Display Properties" dialog) --KNOWN ISSUES-- The animated moose tends to disappear from certain camera angles. Dual monitor displays can sometimes keep the scene from running. Temporarily reset your display back to one monitor. If elements of the scene do not appear, this is usually due to a lack of video RAM to store texture files. Make sure no other programs or unecessary background services are running and consider the changes recommended in step 6 above. Certain multimedia and 3D programs may prevent the scene from loading. Please make sure no other programs are running. The foliage takes an unexptectedly long time to load. David Sparks david@digitalanimation.net
