Citizen Science Wildlife Monitoring Program
A partnership between SREP, the Denver
Zoo and the Gore Range Natural Science School
Volunteer Wildlife Trackers needed!
Southern Rockies Ecosystem Project has joined the Denver Zoo and Gore
Range Natural Science School in the "Citizen Science" wildlife monitoring project on Vail Pass. Year-round, volunteers monitor the movement of wildlife around and across Interstate 70 at key wildlife tracking stations. Data gathered will be used to help assess the future location of a proposed
wildlife overpass.
We are looking for dedicated volunteers who can
commit to attending a day-long training workshop as well as collect
wildlife movement data on an on-going basis.
Interested volunteers are required to attend an entire one-day
workshop and must be willing to commit to at least eight to ten hours per
month. This workshop includes morning classroom instruction followed by
afternoon field training.
