Dan Bell - Executive Director
Dan Bell was raised outside Denver and grew up recreating in the Colorado mountains. He earned a B.S. in Forest Sciences from Colorado State University, then a J.D. from North Carolina Central University’s School of Law in Durham, NC. Before returning to Denver, Dan spent seven years with The Nature Conservancy in Wilmington, NC as a project director. While there he contributed to the conservation of more than 50,000 acres of swamp and longleaf pine habitat in the southeast coastal plain ecoregion. He also engaged federal and state agencies in the management and protection of the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. Returning to the West, Dan served as Associate Director for the Sequoia Riverlands Trust in Visalia, CA where he directed strategic and conservation planning.

In 2008, Dan returned to Colorado and joined SREP as the Executive Director. In this role he is excited to deeply engage conservation partners and the broader community, leverage SREP’s programs to enhance the ecological resources of and connectivity in the Rockies, and direct SREP’s growth and staff towards greater success. Dan’s in-depth experience with building partnerships, overseeing organizational programs and resources, and successful fundraising proves him integral to SREP and the achievement of our mission.

Monique DiGiorgio - Director of Development and Communications
Monique earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Notre Dame and has been working for 12 years in the field of conservation biology and ecology. For the first six years of her career, Monique worked as a field ornithologist spending much of her time nest searching and conducting behavioral observations. This took her from Australia studying the satin bowerbird to San Diego studying the rufous-crowned sparrow, as well as many other places in between. More recently, she has been developing the financial and programmatic capacity of small conservation non-profits. At SREP, Monique has been instrumental in developing programs in wildlife linkage research and implementing wildlife crossings as well as raising over a million dollars in funds to make this work a reality. She brings knowledge of conservation biology, policy, fundraising, as well as education and outreach to SREP.
